Overlap helps you see your friends' local times and plan calls. It is built to work entirely on your device.
01What we collect
Nothing. Overlap has no account, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We never receive, see, sell or share any of your information.
02What stays on your phone
Everything you enter — friends' names, cities, awake hours, groups, notes, call reminders and your settings — is stored only on your device. It is deleted when you remove the app, or when you use Settings › Remove all friends.
03Permissions
- Notifications — only if you turn on wake-up alerts, clock-change warnings or call reminders. They are scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent over the internet.
- Run at startup — so reminders you've set still go off after your phone restarts.
- Vibration — for notification alerts.
When you add a friend from contacts, your phone's own contact picker opens and Overlap receives only the one contact you choose. Its phone number is read once, on your phone, to suggest which country or state they're in; the number is never saved or sent anywhere. Overlap does not ask for access to your contacts and cannot see anyone you don't pick.
When you tap Calendar, Overlap opens your calendar app with the call filled in; you decide whether to save it. Overlap does not read your calendar.
04Public holiday data
Holidays are worked out on your phone from the open-source date-holidays project. No request is made to look them up.
05Children
Overlap is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.
06Changes
